On January 31 2020, our CEO Tomoyuki Kogure and India office director Suryanarayana Murthy held a lecture at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangalore.

The lecture was entitled "Mantra for successful Indo-Japanese business", and they both talked about the points to succeed in business between Indo and Japan, along with four case studies. ("Mantra" means (especially in Hinduism and Buddhism) a word or sound that is believed to have a special spiritual power)

About 50 people, from veteran members who have been doing business with Japan for more than 30 years to new faces who just started their business listened eagerly to this lecture. In additions to questions about Japanese culture and business custom, there were Indians who showed their key to build successful business relationship between Japanese people gained through their own experiences. The seminar has ended in great success, exceeding the scheduled time substantially.

Among them, some people appreciated that the explanation about the “High Context Culture”, which is very valued in Japan, helped them to understand what had been incomprehensible part of Japanese people.

Tomoyuki Kogure has commented that he hopes lectures like the given one can be a trigger of a successful business between India and Japan. He also commented that he learned a lot from the local people through this seminar, and expressed his deepest gratitude to Mr. Karanth, honorary secretary of IJCCI and to members of the secretariat, who made great effort to host the event.
